When Emily reached out to schedule a family session, I was extra excited and honored, because she is also a photographer in the area. When you're a photographer, it's sometimes hard to not just try and do the photos yourself. But when you have a baby and toddler, the tripod approach just doesn't quite cut it (if you know you know!) So we went over to Forest Park to take advantage of the beautiful spring scenery. I love Forest Park in any season, but the blooming trees made it just so beautiful! Emily's sweet girls took a little time to warm up, but after a few minutes of sniffing flowers and running around, we were good to go. I love photographing families and never want anyone to feel worried that their kids won't be "good" or "picture perfect" for a session. I expect your kids to be exactly what they are- kids! They'll be sleepy, hungry, nervous, squirmy, grumpy, wild or shy. That's completely normal and we can work with all of those scenarios :) Anyway, I enjoyed a beautiful evening with this family and we came away with some beautiful images that capture this stage of their life so well.
